There are a lot of controversy about the usage of graft for reconstruction of the TMJ, many researchers tried in the past different technique to be applied in the TMJ [1], for restoration of growth and all failed and some of these techniques may be used for one trial without success.

Role of mesenchyme stem cells in the chondro-osseous graft reconstruction of temporomandibular joint for continuous growth of the mandible and midface
Abstract Introduction This study included 37 children who were treated by reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) by chondro-osseous graft from the iliac crest. The role of granular mesenchyme stem cells of the graft is to simulate normal condyle for continuous growth; it is also involved in repair and remodelling of the condyle, as shown by experimental studies conducted on rabbits...

Despite numerous studies on the prevalence of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJDs) in adults, those performed in children are limited. This study determined the prevalence of TMJDs in 9-12-year-old Kermanian boy students living in Southeast of Iran. 240 boy students selected by randomized method and studied through a descriptive cross-sectional epidemiologic survey including interviews and...
متن کاملReconstruction of Acute Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Dislocations with or without Tendon Graft: a Retrospective Comparative Study
Background: Reconstructions of acute acromioclavicular (AC) dislocations have been thought to result in superioroutcomes than chronic dislocations. The use of tendon graft in reconstructions has demonstrated favorablebiomechanical properties. To determine whether utilizing tendon graft during repair of acute AC dislocations results insuperior outcomes and lower complication ra...
متن کاملAnterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction with Hamstring Tendons Has no Deleterious Effect on Hip Extension Strength
Background: Hamstring tendons are secondary hip extensors. Their harvest for graft in anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) reconstruction may create deleterious effect on hip extension strength. This is of particular importance in sportsthat need powerful hip extension force like climbing and sprinting. Due to scarcity of a comprehensive study in thisarea, we designed this prospect...
